Templates work well but you need to use hooks every time to get a basic working layout. For example it would be helpful that you could tick a checkbox to add a link to the post title. It would also be useful for a post title to add heading tags to the title. For an excerpt a paragraph tag would be useful.

It would be great also to add classes to each element so they could be styled more effectively.
